imma start off here

the thing about the other side of the game: it’s a classic for me. lo down loretta brown (erykah badu for those of you unfamiliar with my motha) swooned me back in my prepubescence when i first saw this all at once video. essentially she illustrated a lifestyle of simplicity and what i now recognize as high value. minus the “complex occupation” and the dishonest work this video represents the very simple life that i strive to obtain and share with ‘him’. she told her story of “confusion” and “peace” and “revolution” in just one six-minute take which lent to the scene a feeling of authenticity. i want my alkaline body, lifestyle, ways to express myself and mind to just be pure and free of as many distractions as possible. that’s what this video in conjunction with the song portrays. and it’s for that precise reason that this video is a great piece of my art peace. it’s all i want.

“nostalgia, ultra”.

the new “get em wet” songz. the guy is obviously a bit educated and is monsterous when it comes to putting the words together. Frank Ocean is only 24 and the first time i heard “Novacane” i had to keep reminding myself he wasn’t the ever talented Ryan Leslie. i’m assuming this is his first OFFICIAL project but to be so he’s got an undeniable winner. it’s not often a kid his age can give you a tracklist that shouldn’t come with notes on where you should skip to the next cut. i stand behind it so firmly that i must direct you to the download link.

the thing about nostalgia, ultra: this is a mixtape of good quality and is littered with a sort of talent that is a rarity in music these days. the beats are nifty as hayul and his voice has the croon we all love in r&b. the guy oozes sex f*cking and is amazingly talented given his age bracket. his voice says “been grown for a long time” but yet his lyrics give his music a youthful touch that makes all the substance in his choice of beats and vocals easy for the youngins (that are used to the bullsh*t) to absorb. this joint will age slowly.

a promise to find your art peace.

i’m just a 20 something girl with an overactive brain that likes really dope sh*t. i like scouring the nets and streets for fresh, stimulating expressions of art.  i decided to create this blog for the sheer purpose to have a place to share and develop those very fluid interests, that is my life. my whole life i’ve been a fan and fulltime lover of the arts and have, and continue to find my “art peace”. your art peace being the place where you are expressed in another’s (or your own) work. hopefully in this blog you will find your art peace and develop your own palate. this is my holistic+artistic+promise
